About Us
Garth Williams, Ph.D. Principal
Garth holds a doctorate in Canadian Political History and brings fifteen
years of experience in public affairs, research policy and communications,
and research to knowledge mobilization. He has coordinated and provided
policy analysis for national consultations on postsecondary education
and research policy; managed public affairs and media relations for
national research organizations; oversaw review and administration of
a national peer-reviewed research funding program; organized academic
and policy research workshops, conferences and public presentations.
Garth has worked on parliament hill, in the public service, the voluntary
sector and the university community and has written for academic and
popular publications.
He believes in work that is:
- Rigorous: based in research and a critical and independent analysis
- Consultative: based in careful listening and respectful collaboration
- Clear: based in honest communication, active engagement and accessible
language
- Effective: based in realistic expectations and a determination
to achieve results
As an independent researcher, Garth has a developed interest in knowledge
mobilization, postsecondary education, research policy, democratic reform
and the social-cultural history of Canadian politics.
